It's gonna be a White Thanksgiving!!

This entry comes to you from SNOWING AS WE SPEAK, Madison Wisconsin! That's right people, we are having a WHITE Thanksgiving! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...Can you tell I am just a little bit excited? :)

Ben waiting as our flight was delayed!

Sam and Paige at Airport

Our trip here went so smooth it's hard to believe....I am thinking that Karma being what it is, our return trip may be a little jinxed! We got to the carpark and parked our van on got on the shuttle to the airport. We checked in at a computer terminal outside the airport and got our boarding passes printed out right there. We then went inside to face the lines, only to find....there weren't any! :) After checking our bags in (and telling the guy I was NOT going to pay for any bags that were too heavy so I had to shuffle stuff from one of the bags to another!) we headed towards security to stand in line....only there wasn't one. So after spending about four minutes for the five of us to get through security, we had three hours to wait for our flight as the much anticipated and planned for crowds just were not there! After one short flight delay, we were up in the air and off. The flight was great and after we caught a headwind, we made it to Chicago in three hours! We got to the baggage claim and grabbed the last of our five bags just as they turned off the luggage belt due to some difficulty! (Again, I am thinking karma might kick in! ).....
We got to the car rental place and found that with our insurance we got a discount of over $120.00 from what we were expecting.......wheeeeeeeeeeee....
We got to Madison late, but had a great sleep and felt better by this morning. We picked Shelby up from her Moms house and then spent the day at Mom and Dads (we are still there!)....
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I envision wearing elastic waist pants!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Early Birthday gift

Sam's birthday isn't until December 16th...But he is going to his Dads for the Christmas break and so Sam wouldn't get much enjoyment out of his bday/Christmas gift if we waited till the 16th to give it to him (he leaves on the 20th for two weeks). So we asked him if he wanted to wait till his bday, OR get his gift early (we all know how Mark is good at waiting to give or open a gift! NOT! lol).... Sam choose to open it last night...and boy, was he THRILLED. MORE than thrilled....he has been saving his money for an Xbox 360...conning Mark and I and his Dad out of money for it etc...so we put him out of his misery and bought him one!

Here he is playing with his friends. For those of you unfamiliar with Xbox 360, it is a fairly typical gaming system, except that you hook it up to the internet and Sam and his friends can all be at their own homes, but log on and all play together! Sam has that headset on as it allows him to talk to them all. How cool is that? I think I want one now! Maybe Sam will share with me! :)

Hugs to all,
Jaye

Hair today, gone tomorrow

Mark came home from work today with a fresh haircut, and I mentioned that Ben could use one and could he take him in this weekend? Mark said 'sure'. Well then Mark mentioned to Ben that he had 'hair clippers just like the guy on base' and that was all that needed to be said. Like a couple of bandits they took off into the bathroom....

Here is the haircut in progress. Ben was scrunching up because he had hair all over him and it was itchy. Mark had it cut very nicely, but Ben took one look in the mirror and said "THIS isn't very short!". So Mark went to work on Bens hair with zeal! Ben LOVES a buzz cut!

Here is the finished product. It's actually a VERY nice cut, Ben just had to make his 'macho' face for the camera, so he ends up looking more like a felon than the cute little six year old that he is. He has declared that 'Dad can cut my hair all the time, AND it's free!". I guess you can't beat a deal like that!

Hugs to all,
Jaye

Halloween

This was the view from our front porch on Halloween morning. It was foggy most of the day and by the evening, it was also VERY cold. Perfect, 'spookely' Halloween weather!

Here is Tigger on his way to Paul and Ami's house to go Trick or Treating!

Ami had to dress up for Halloween for work so she kept her costume on for the evening as well (she was a fortune teller)..Paige of course was a Chico Cheerleader!

Here are the three musketeers prior to going out Trick or Treating! They were still warm and full of energy at this point!

Going through the loot! What a haul. They all look just a little tired and VERY cold!

Sugar Rush!!!
